Fall has arrived, and after almost six months of warm weather, we can finally feel cooler temperatures start to appear. The break from the heat will be a nice change, driving those of us who have been hunkering down indoors outside to enjoy the cooler nights. With more bearable temperatures, there is sure to be a lot going on. How should you best spend your newfound outdoor freedom? We break it down by location: in your backyard, in your Britton Homes neighborhood and in the Greater Dallas Area. Get your jacket out of storage and start making plans for your fall fun activities!
The joy of your own backyard
When you have a home as gorgeous as one from Britton Homes, there is no need to travel far to experience beauty. Many of our homes come with a generous outdoor covered patio that offers plenty of room to entertain. Even so, lots of homeowners choose to further customize their outdoor living spaces, extending their concrete patio, adding a deck or installing a gazebo. This is a great way to ensure you have plenty of space for visitors. To add life between all the wood and stone, build areas for additional landscaping, and bask in the beauty of fall plants.
Most everyone loves to eat, and fall is the perfect season for evening cookouts. Fire up the grill and invite the family over for some much-needed reconnection time. When the nights turn even colder, have a patio heater ready so the party can go on as long as you want it to. Or make the gathering extra special with a backyard fire pit. You can roast hot dogs and s’mores or simply enjoy warming your feet by the fire.

See the beauty of fall with Autumn at the Arboretum, a beautiful display of color featuring 150,000 fall-blooming plants. Touches of fall accompany the trail of beauty, with 90,000 pumpkins on display. Gather the family and pick out the perfect pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.
Love music? Catch some local Dallas/Fort Worth bands at the Cool Thursdays concert series, which runs through October 26. Better yet, each concert will be accompanied by some of the area’s best food trucks.
Experience true Texan fun at the State Fair of Texas 2017. This year’s theme focuses on celebrating Texans and will include fun for the whole family with exhibits, rides, fireworks, and concerts. Visit through October 22.
Broaden your horizons at the Japanese Garden Fall Festival, which will be held on the weekend of October 28-29. Participate in tea ceremonies, watch sword and martial arts demonstrations, and enjoy traditional Japanese dance and music. It is a great way to add some cultural fun into your life.
