Celebrating Father’s Day in and Around Dallas
Father’s Day is fast approaching this year. From fixing mechanical issues with our cars, killing bugs and rooting for us from the sidelines, fathers make an impact in our everyday lives. To honor our fathers Sunday, June 16, Britton Homes has compiled a list of places to go and events to attend that will please the fathers in your life.
Activities
Here is a list of some fun activities you will entertain dad this Father’s Day and make his day even more special.
If the fathers in your life have a competitive side or just enjoy trying something new, throwing axes may be perfect for them. Bad Axe Throwing is a Canadian pastime and is the "world’s largest urban axe throwing company." With its two Texas locations, one in Dallas and another in Fort Worth, fathers are sure to have an exciting time. Bad Axe Throwing offers walk-ins starting at $20 an hour and private events from $30 per person.
For car fanatic dads, Texas Live! will be hosting a Father’s Day Car Show from noon to 3 pm in Arlington, which is about half an hour outside Dallas. Although the registration cutoff date for vehicle entry was June 2nd, spectators are welcome to enjoy this free event. Cars of all years, makes and models, as well as motorcycles will be competing for a trophy.
Located in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Fearing’s Restaurant will be offering a Father’s Day buffet Sunday, June 16. The starters and main courses will be served in the restaurant, while fathers and their family will be able to enjoy dessert in their outdoor dining areas. This buffet option will be $125 for adults and $35 for children.
This is perfect if you are looking to spend the day outdoors. Take a drive about an hour out of Dallas to Lake Lewisville for a fun, nature filled day with the family. Whether fishing, skiing, swimming, taking a hike or using the bike trails, this lake will satisfy many interests to make the day memorable.
If dad enjoys outdoor action and adventure, bring him to this 1,000 acre sports park. Only open on the weekends and conveniently located half an hour outside Dallas, Texplex Park’s attractions include ATV/UTV, motocross, jet boats, sporting clays and an indoor live-fire simulator. It is every action sports father's dream.
For the fathers who like to golf and will enjoy the convenience of dining while playing, bring them to Topgolf for a fun twist on this classic sport. Amenities include a full-service restaurant and bar, three 18-hole miniature golf courses and free wifi. Celebrate an early Father’s Day Friday or Saturday night or go for brunch on Sunday.
The House of Blues Dallas will be featuring the Yacht Rock Revue on June 16 at 7 PM. The Yacht Rock Revue features soft rock renditions from several well-known musical artists and bands from the ‘70s and ‘80s, such as Hall & Oates, Gerry Rafferty, The Doobie Brothers and Looking Glass. Tickets for this event are $15 plus fees.
